As parents, we are always looking for ways to make sure our kids are eating healthy! Some times we will even employ drastic measures to hide healthy foods in other not-so-healthy foods, disguise them to look like something they would eat, or even trick our kids into eating something good for them when they thought they were eating something else!
But one thing is for sure, KIDS LOVE GUMMIES (grown ups too)!!! The problem is there are companies out there creating gummy vitamins and other things like that, and leading you to believe that they are good for you. Mostly, they are filled with low-quality nutrients, sugar, artificial sweeteners, corn syrup, artificial colorings and artificial flavorings.
In the past, I have made home-made smoothies, sorbets, popsicles and dehydrated foods as snacks for my kids. I recently found this article that showed me how to make home-made gummies as well! This is a great way for your kids to get an extra serving of fruit and vegetables, and they will beg for them! Imagine, rewarding our kids with healthy food for helping with chores around the house, or as a reward for good behavior! This is definitely a guilt-free reward you can share with your family to help keep them happier and healthier!!!
